Michael Adebowale, 22, of Greenwich, South East London, was named last night as one of the suspects shot by police after the murder of Lee Rigby. A good friend said it was a big shock.
Michael Adebowale, 22, (left) has been identified as the second suspect in the brutal murder of Drummer Lee Rigby, 25. His home in Greenwich, just a few miles from the Woolwich crime scene, has been raided by police (centre and right). Adebowale and Michael Adebolajo, 28, ran the soldier down with their car before 'hacking, chopping and cutting' at his body like 'crazed animals' screaming 'Allah Akbar!’ – an Islamic phrase meaning ‘God is great’, witnesses said. After being shot by armed police both have been been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in hospital in a stable condition with Scotland Yard waiting to interview them. Today a friend (above centre), who has known Adebowale since they were 11, said the man he saw on television holding a knife and covered in blood 'was not the same person' he grew up with.
